SMITH RANCH & JULIAN RAILROAD is the only place you can ride a train in these parts. The 1-mile round trip as you cross over two trestle bridges and negotiate a 225 degree curve to disembark at an original 1870's Julian gold rush mine. While there, you'll see pick marks made in the rock 138 years ago. Train rides are available for groups only (4 or more) and advance reservations are needed.
