Most visitors turn inland and take the bus up to Hearst Castle but just across coast is highway William R. Hearst Memorial State Beach. If you bring along a lunch there are plenty of picnic tables to sit at and enjoy the view. With a little more time you can try your luck fishing from San Simeon Pier. The beach is located along some of California's pristine coastline, unspoiled by high-rise
